Trinity Park is located just outside of down town Fort Worth on the banks of the Clear Fork part of the Trinity River. Trinity Park is one of the largest parks, if not the largest park in Fort Worth. This park offers a duck pond, play grounds, walking trails, a fishing pier, and the Fort Worth Police & Firefighters Memorial. This park has something for everyone, just remember to wear your walking shoes, because the duck pond is quite a walk or a short car ride away from the playground. If you do decide to walk keep an close eye on the kids and your surroundings there are were a lot of transient people when we went. They did stay away from the playground area but when we got closer to the duck pond and the police and firefighters memorial I did notice them. It is located at 2401 University Dr Fort Worth Texas.

Gammill Park and Haslet Community Park is located directly across from the Haslet Public Library, at the intersection of Gammill and FM156. It is out in the middle of no where, but still a great place to visit. Why? Because you get to see trains! While we were there three trains came by. There are railroad tracks across FM156 and another set on the west side of the park. The other reason that I like this park is that the smaller kids area has a fence all the way around it and a bench swing that faces the play ground for the adults. The big kid area is a short walk from the smaller children's playground. It is not fenced in. I did not really like this play structure, it was very unsafe for younger children or for more than one or two children. The wobbly bridge did not have any hand rails, and would be easy to fall off. Also there was a modern set of monkey bars that were very unique. Little Guy kept asking what is that? Even after I tried explaining. This park also features disc golf, a sand volleyball court, and a basketball court. The walk way for the disc golf course is a great place to go for a walk. All in all this is a good park. If you have a little one, or even a big one who loves trains it is worth the drive! Friday night we started a new family tradition, attend the Parade of Lights! Wonderful Hubby and I always say we should have gone, this year we went. It was cold, it was crowded, it was worth it more. We reserved our seats the day of minutes before we they closed the online registration. I know we are huge procrastinators! Little Guy's favorite part of The Parade of Lights was the juggling elf. He was really good at entertaining the crowd, and keeping the children entertained. I loved our seats the court house made a great back ground. I am glad that we started a family tradition, and look forward to next years Parade of Lights! The worst part of the evening was getting out of the parking garage, it took almost an hour. If we had not had entertainment for Little Guy it would have been much worse! Next year we will probably walk around until the parking garage is clearer, maybe take in a movie or grab something to eat. It is in Sundance Square there is something to do.
Heritage Park 201 Ball St Grapevine Texas Heritage Park has a great history. The land was deeded to the city of Grapevine, and the school district for back taxes owed. The school district eventually deeded the property to the city. If that is not enough history, it was also the location of a basket making company for the cantaloupe farms in the area. Now Heritage Park has grown, and is a delightful place to hang out, eat a snack, and let your little one have fun. Heritage Park is a great park to get out and meet others. Every time I take Little Guy there is always other children for him to play with. There are two play areas one that is bigger that has a spider web like climbing ropes. The smaller one may not look like much, but Little Guy loves the "lily pad hoppers" that leads up to it. There is also swings next to the smaller play set. For the parents there is a ton of seating areas. The down side to this park is that there is not a fence, and it is on a busy street. This park is a nice one to visit, and don't forget to bring a snack. This place is somewhere your child will not be ready to leave for a while. Texas State Fair Little Guy really enjoyed our time here. He wants to go back next year with Daddy too! We went on a Dr. Pepper discount Tuesday. It cost three dollars a person, and children two and under were free. We parked off site in what can only be described as an empty lot, for five dollars. Be ready to pay to park with cash. The State Fair offers parking, but it was more expensive. I would recommend with small children that you pack a ton of snacks, the ones little man wanted were over priced for what we got. Little guy and I both enjoyed the free attractions for kids. The petting zoo does charge for food to feed the animals, but there is no charge for admission.
